I'm currently a Seaman but I'm planning on putting in for OCS R and I wanted to know how good of chance I had based on my background. I'd also like to know if anyone had any tips or advice on things I could do to improve my chances
I graduated cum laude with a bachelors degree in political science and later with a masters degree in liberal studies. I've interned for two congressmen and one U.S. Senator. I was student body vice president of my undergrad, chaired a student coalition for a presidential campaign statewide, and also ran or held positions in several organizations in both grad school and undergrad.
Would having this educational and professional background on top of currently already being enlisted in the Coast Guard give me a decent shot at OCS R or will it be tough not coming from a STEM background?
